Mission/Purpose: The Bulldog News Network produces the morning announcements and digital content to share with the school and community.
Description of Planned Activities: Students will develop leadership and teamwork skills through a number of on-camera and behind-the-scenes positions including anchor/feature, camera/lights, sound, teleprompter, studio director, video director, and switchboard operator. Students are selected during the spring of the year prior to the club start date. For example, students for the 2025-26 club were selected in the spring of 2025.

Mission/Purpose: To educate students about how to prepare, plant, harvest and care for the school garden with the goal of inspiring an interest in gardening/agriculture as a hobby or future career opportunity.
Description of Planned Activities: Students and sponsors will begin weeding and improving the aesthetics of the outdoor garden. We will till and prepare the garden beds for fall planting and winter harvest spring planting and summer harvest, as well as, utilize the water tower and hydroponic gardens (indoor) to plant, grow and harvest greens. We would like to explore and educate students about composting, with the possibility of expanding the program to utilize cafeteria waste.

Mission/Purpose: The goal of the Intramurals clubs is to help provide an opportunity for the students of NGMS to play some team sports. Since all students do not have a chance to be in Physical Education during the school day, intramurals gives the students access to some physical activity.
Description of Planned Activities: During Intramurals the students will be divided up into teams to play sports. The primary sport that the students play is basketball. If we have enough students interested in other sports, we will also set those sports.

Mission/Purpose: The LEGO Robotics Club is for the Team members of our two FIRST LEGO League Challenge teams (NGMS Bulldogs and NGMS Champs) to work on their Innovation Projects and prepare for the season's competitions.
Description of Planned Activities: Students work with their team to design, build, and code a LEGO robot to complete the challenges of the current FLL Challenge Season, as well as research and create a Project Presentation for the Innovation Project that is part of the season competition. The first competition is usually in December, and students will potentially advance to further rounds in the second semester. Once they are done competing for the season, we will have other practice activities during meetings to remain engaged and prepare for future seasons.

Mission/Purpose: The MATHCOUNTS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that reaches students in grades 6-8 in all US states and territories with 2 extracurricular math programs. Hundreds of thousands of students participate in our programs or use our resources each year.
Description of Planned Activities: It's a national enrichment program and competition series focused on building problem-solving skills and positive attitudes towards math for middle school students. It offers a variety of programs, including the MATHCOUNTS Competition Series, the National Math Club, and the Math Video Challenge (formerly). The Competition Series provides a platform for students to compete in live, in-person math contests.

Mission/Purpose: Readers Rally is a club for students who love to read and want to compete with their knowledge about specific books.
Description of Planned Activities: Readers Rally members will meet each week to read a set list of 10 books. Students will also write comprehension questions about the books and participate in practice buzzer rounds in anticipation of the county-wide competition. Any student may join the club; however, the competition team will be decided by December each year. Ten members of the club will move on to the county-wide competition in February.

Mission/Purpose: The mission of the Middle School Writing Club is to empower young writers by fostering creativity, building confidence, and cultivating a supportive writing community where every voice is valued and every story matters.
Description of Planned Activities: Each writing club meeting begins with a quick warm-up, followed by optional sharing and feedback. A brief lesson or prompt introduces a writing focus, leading into individual or group writing time. Sessions end with peer critiques and a wrap-up, including next steps or anthology planning.
