Mission/Purpose: The Books & Banter Book Club is a casual club designed for avid readers who want to read, socialize, and discuss books with peers who also love to read.
Description of Planned Activities: Love to read and chat about your favorite books? Want to find people who appreciate the written word as much as you do? This club is designed for readers just like you! During the meeting, we will spend time reading in the company of new friends, chatting about our favorite books and characters, playing book-related games and activities, and more. This club does not have an assigned book; students will self-select books from the media center to bring to club time. Books & Banter is limited to 40 participants and is open to all students.

Mission/Purpose: The Bulldog News Network produces the morning announcements and digital content to share with the school and community.
Description of Planned Activities: Students will develop leadership and teamwork skills through a number of on-camera and behind-the-scenes positions including anchor/feature, camera/lights, sound, teleprompter, studio director, video director, and switchboard operator. Students are selected during the spring of the year prior to the club start date. For example, students for the 2024-25 club were selected in the spring of 2024.

Mission/Purpose: To educate students about how to prepare, plant, harvest and care for the school garden with the goal of inspiring an interest in gardening/agriculture as a hobby or future career opportunity.
Description of Planned Activities: Students and sponsors will begin weeding and improving the aesthetics of the outdoor garden. We will till and prepare the garden beds for fall planting and winter harvest spring planting and summer harvest, as well as, utilize the water tower and hydroponic gardens (indoor) to plant, grow and harvest greens. We would like to explore and educate students about composting, with the possibility of expanding the program to utilize cafeteria waste.

Mission/Purpose: The purpose of Intramurals is to help provide an opportunity of physical education for all students at NGMS. Since all students at NGMS are not able to have Physical Education (PE) in their schedule, this club helps to meet the physical needs of those students who chose to participate.
Description of Planned Activities: Intramurals is a sports club that meets in the mornings (8:00-8:55) on the designated Tuesdays and Wednesdays. During our club times, we play a variety of sports chosen by the students. The main sports that we play are basketball, soccer, and volleyball.

Mission/Purpose: Readers Rally is a club for students who love to read and want to compete with their knowledge about specific books.
Description of Planned Activities: Readers Rally members will meet each week to read a set list of 10 books. Students will also write comprehension questions about the books and participate in practice buzzer rounds in anticipation of the county-wide competition. Any student may join the club; however, the competition team will be decided by December each year. Ten members of the club will move on to the county-wide competition in February.
